BlockMyCard exists for one reason — to help you act fast on the worst day, when a wallet or phone goes missing. Here's exactly how we treat what you trust us with, in plain words.
The short version
If you only read this far, you've got the important part.
- ✓We only ask for what helps you reach your bank quickly — nothing more.
- ✓We never store your full card number, CVV, PIN, UPI PIN, net-banking password, or OTP.
- ✓You can view, edit, or delete anything you've saved, whenever you like.
- ✓We'll never sell your details or hand them to anyone marketing to you.
- ✓We're an early-stage service, and we'll keep telling you the truth about where we are.
What we ask for
The details that help you act fast
Think of BlockMyCard as a notebook you keep for one emergency — but a notebook only you can open. To help you block a card quickly, we let you store things like:
Bank & card type
The bank name and whether it's debit, credit, or prepaid.
Last few digits
Just enough to tell your cards apart — never the full number.
Block-card helpline
The bank's official number to block a lost or stolen card.
Your mobile & email
So you can sign in from any phone if yours is lost.
A family contact
An optional alternate person to reach, only if you choose.
Whatever you choose
You decide what to add. Start with just name, mobile, and email.
What we never touch
The secret parts stay secret
This is the line we don't cross. To block a card, your bank never needs the secret parts — and neither do we.
We do not ask for, and do not store:
None of these are needed to block a card. Ever.
- ✕ Your full 16-digit card number
- ✕ The CVV (3 digits on the back)
- ✕ Your ATM PIN or UPI PIN
- ✕ Net-banking or card passwords
- ✕ Any OTP
If anyone — a website, a call, an SMS — asks for these "to block your card," that's a fraud attempt, not a safety step. We will never do that.
You're in control
Your saved details belong to you
Not to us. You decide how much to add, and you can undo any of it in a few taps.
- 👁See everything you've saved, any time you log in.
- ✎Change or remove any card or contact in a few taps.
- 🗑Delete your account whenever you want — your saved details go with it.
How we look after it

We're still an early-stage service, and we're honest about that. As our security practices are formalised, we'll publish the specifics right here — in language you can actually read — rather than hiding behind a policy no one opens.
Our promises
A few things worth putting in writing
- NeverWe will never sell your information.
- NeverWe will never hand your details to advertisers or data brokers.
- NeverWe will never call, text, or email you asking for a PIN, password, CVV, or OTP.
- NeverWe will never ask for more than you choose to share.
If something ever claims to be from BlockMyCard and breaks one of these, treat it as a scam — and please tell us.
Staying safe
Beyond BlockMyCard
Because we'd rather you never need us in a panic.
- Your bank will never ask for your PIN, CVV, or OTP over a call or message.
- If a card is lost, block it first, then file a complaint at cybercrime.gov.in or call 1930.
- Save your bank's official block-card helpline somewhere you can reach it — that's exactly what BlockMyCard is for.
